shadowfolds
Shadowfolds is the name of a book by Jeffrey Rutzky and Chris Palmer that gives excellent instructions for making origami-like tessellations, but from fabric instead of paper.
Below are some pictures of my first shadowfolds pattern - it was, as promised in the book, surprisingly easy to make. I used cotton which is translucent and strong top-stitch thread to keep it all together. I got everything from MacCulloch & Wallis in London, who were extremely helpful!
I am eager to try some more complicated ones - watch this space! [Click on the images to enlarge]
